Corban Update – April 28, 2009

Hello world!

                             Hello World!

Thanks again to all of you who participated in our first blog contest over the weekend guessing when our newest addition, Amy’s son Corban, will be coming home from the hospital.  In addition to some very insightful guesses, your well-wishes for Corban and the stories you shared about your own children were very much appreciated and fun to read.

The above picture is of Corban at 4 weeks old, just a few days ago. You know what they say about a picture being worth a thousand words…  He is obviously doing very well, and Amy wanted me to give you an update on his progress.

As of Monday, Corban’s incubator temperature has been dropped to between 82 and 83 degrees or more specifically 28 degrees Celsius, for you medical gurus.  As long as he keeps up the good fight and maintains his body temperature over the next 24 hours, it’s “Bye-bye incubator” and “Hello crib”.  Doctors say he could even have that hospital crib whipped as early as 48 hours after that!

Let’s do some math… if you guessed a homecoming date for Corban of Thursday, April 30th or Friday, May 1st, Amy’s bouncing baby boy could be earning you 50% off your next order at AmyAdele.com.  You never know though, sometimes little boys can be rather mischievous and have other plans in mind. :-)

Corban is adorable! So happy to hear he’s doing so well!
I notice he doesn’t have a feeding tube. Hope that means he’s successfully eating from a bottle. It looks like he’s wearing real, non-hospital issued clothes too. Brings back so many memories of my baby girl’s stay in the NICU. Hope he’s able to go home soon!
